“I really wanted to push myself musically and lyrically with this album, searching to pull out the stories within and around me,” explains AVARY. “I like to write songs that are an honest reflection of what’s going on in my life and in my mind while I observe and attempt to learn more about myself and this beautiful, intense world we live in."

During August and September of 2011, AVARY holed up in a local Dallas/Fort Worth studio to work through songs he’d been writing both at home and on tour over the past two years.
AVARY added new instruments into the mix – a mandolin, a banjo, some trashcans, even a typewriter – resulting in a diversely energetic and vibrantly electrified album. As with previous albums from THE ROCKET SUMMER, AVARY alone wrote and performed every note on this album. His songwriting likewise stretched to a broad scope, examining the human experience with a strikingly personal eye, all of which is captured in the album title LIFE WILL WRITE THE WORDS.

"To me, that phrase in a sense captures a bit of the human experience. I believe there's a song in everything,” AVARY says. “Literally everything you look at, you can pull a song out of it. We all have a song, we all have a story.   

On LIFE WILL WRITE THE WORDS, AVARY touches on the highs and lows of live, love, family and faith. “Old Love” addresses the death of what real love truly means. “It’s about how terribly uncool and unsexy it is now to be committed to someone through thick and thin,” explains AVARY. “You can’t turn on the radio anymore without everything being about a quick fix. I want my life to be epic; to love abundantly and boldly.”

Another story shared on the 12-track multi-dimensional collection, “Just For A Moment Forget Who You Are,” was inspired by AVARY’s father. “My Dad had a rough upbringing and beat all the odds. When you realize who you are in God’s eyes, you realize how tremendously important you are.”

“The Rescuing Type” is about how sometimes living means doing the right thing, the selfless thing, despite how difficult. “To rescue those who are hurting can be one of the most paralyzing feelings when put it that position. It’s about getting to the core of your heart beneath the black and blue calluses to see the truth of what you are meant for.”

AVARY’s genuine, personal style of writing is the foundation for his deeply kinetic and emotional connection to fans.  With fan voices often singing every word louder than the band, THE ROCKET SUMMER shows are an indie tour de force, with a laundry list of touring accomplishments from headlining the world over, including the AP Tour, Austin City Limits, Glastonbury (England), T In the Park (Scotland), Summer Sonic (Japan), Soundwave (Australia), and Parachute (New Zealand).   

THE ROCKET SUMMER has sold over 250,000 albums and over 500,000 singles in the U.S. alone. The last record, Of Men And Angels, debuted #1 on the iTunes Albums chart, #38 on the Billboard Top 200 and #4 on the Billboard Top Rock albums charts. This surpassed its predecessor, Do You Feel, which came in at #44 on the Billboard Top 200 and #16 on Rock Albums.

The possibilities, as AVARY says, are now endless. This album will be THE ROCKET SUMMER’s first release on the musician’s own label Aviate Records, the formation of which has allowed him to find new ways to release his music. And in the end, it comes down to just that: the music.
